Website Design Service
As a one-person web design business with few overheads, I am able to offer a personal service, and a quality product, at an affordable price.
Small World websites are custom-made, hand-coded sites tailored to the specific requirements of each client (rather than off-the-peg packages based on a template or a formula). Since no two sites are the same, the cost will also vary. However, by way of a guide, here are a few examples:
- A simple site, with 5-7 pages, would cost around £320-£420.
- A single-page site, with custom design work, such as the Natamista “online business card” (see Home page): £200.
- A multi-page, bilingual site, like Geneste Petite Grange, with lots of photos, a location map, a contact form: around £700-£800.
- An author website like that of Alex Russell, with 6-8 pages and including a blog page: around £450-£550.
I have included the pricing scheme below to help you make comparisons while you shop around, but it should be used only as a guide, and it is not an exhaustive list of all the features and services available.
|Outline price guide||UK £||Euro €||US $|
|Design work and production of a single page site||£200.00||€230.00||$300.00|
|Each additional page using the same format||£30.00||€34.50||$45.00|
|For a bilingual site: equivalent pages in another language*, each up to||£22.00||€25.00||$33.00|
|Maintenance and updates, per hour||£25.00||€29.00||$37.50|
*This does not include the cost of
translation, or of modifying any images which contain text.
(There are no hidden taxes - no VAT, for example - and any currency conversion or transaction costs will be met by me.)
A domain name and hosting are essential for any website. (Please see the Questions page for more information.) These costs will depend on your hosting company’s charges.
|Additional costs||UK £||Euro €||US $|
|Domain name (per year) approx||£6.00||€7.00||$9.00|
|Hosting (per year) approx||£40.00||€46.00||$60.00|
How to pay
A deposit of 25% of the agreed fee is payable when you accept my quote. A further 25% is payable when you approve the design. The remaining 50% is due once the project is completed.
My preferred payment method is via PayPal Email (you don’t need a PayPal account. This method is secure and quick, and gives you the choice of paying by credit or debit card, or via your PayPal account if you have one).
Payment may also be made by cheque in £ Sterling or in € Euros, though this is likely to cause a delay while the cheque clears.
